We have a japanese maple tree in our backyard.  I loved how the leaves looked, so when I was about 7 years old, I plucked one off the branch and added it to my “collection”. My mom asked me if I did it when she saw my prized leaf and I lied…. I felt bad for the tree and thought I might have killed it.. because then fall came and all the leaves fell off.
